I made this adorable card using one of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin' Up! called Crazy for Cupcakes. I love how it turned out. The cupcakes are adorable and the colors are really pretty together. Here's how I made it:
First cut a 6" x 9 1/2" piece of red card stock and fold it in half for the base, a 4 1/2" x 5 3/4" piece of dark pink for the first layer, a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of light piece for the second layer, a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of white for the front layer, a 2 1/8" x 3 1/8" piece of red for the cupcake background, a 2" x 3" piece of white for the cupcakes, a 1" x 3" piece of red for the sentiment background and a 7/8" x 2 7/8" piece of white for the sentiment.
Then create the background by randomly rubbing pink and red Gelatos pigment sticks on the white card stock. Next blend the colors by painting over them with a paintbrush and water then let dry completely. Next lightly rub and blend gesso over entire background with your finger or paintbrush until you've achieved your desired look and allow it to dry again. Meanwhile stamp the cupcakes on white card stock with Stazon Jet Black ink then color the bottom of each cupcake with the dark marker from the Stampin' Up! Melon Mambo Blendabilities marker set and the top of each with the medium marker from the Pink Pirouette marker set. Next color each cherry with a Stampin' Up! Real Red ink pad and blender pen then the stand with a blender pen and Smoky Slate ink pad. Next add Diamond Stickles glitter glue to the top of each cupcake and allow to dry completely. Then stamp the sentiment (I used a stamp from Hampton Art) and Melon Mambo ink. Next layer random size hearts using mini pop dots and attach to the background using additional pop dots. Then finish assembling the card and enjoy!
